The Next $500B YC Startup or Another Failing B2C SaaS: GoDotWebs

TL;DR

GoDotWebs is an early-stage, well-differentiated B2C SaaS with real founder-market fit. Success hinges on rapid user acquisition, smart execution, and timing. With the right capital and focus on infrastructure, it has a legitimate shot at becoming a meaningful player.

Introduction

While nearly all B2C SaaS in 2026 share the same idea: "AI doing absolutely everything in one app", there is one that did the opposite. It dove headfirst into a red ocean of productivity tools, developed strategic differentiation, and began to take shape. That is GoDotWebs. It focuses on two small yet painful problems: web forms and applications are too annoying, arguably the worst experience on the internet; sometimes, when you apply to something, what happens? You will be stuck in a loop of anxiety. GoDotWebs was built to solve the issues.

Where did everything start?

GoDotWebs was founded by an 18-year-old, Ricky Chan. He has a long story of rejections. As a self-taught freelance software developer since age 16, he has faced numerous rejections from universities in Hong Kong, several community colleges, internships, and competitive programs including Founders Inc., Y Combinator, and Z Fellows. These setbacks have only strengthened his determination to build real-world impact through his own ventures. He noticed a common struggle in applications: "Most people applied to something, they would immediately go to ChatGPT or Grok, and kept seeking reassurance. I do that, and my friends did that as well." "And applications are time-consuming; you apply to something, and you move on to another application, and you have to type in the same thing repeatedly." Auto-filling applications are widely developed for job applications, but never border. Ricky caught the opportunity. By that time, he struggled to pivot the brand he had created a few years ago, GoDotWebs, an app that claims to do everything, into something practical. The idea hit him like a bell, and then he spent 15+ hours per day working on the project, nonstop, obsessed.

The history of GoDotWebs

GoDotWebs, the brand itself, isn’t new; it follows a 3-year history. When Ricky was 16, GoDotWebs was a web development agency; it provided web solutions. When he was 17, it pivoted into a SaaS, and he tried to frame it as an app that does everything: web development, digital marketing, typwriting, etc; it was not mature yet. Now, with years of experience, GoDotWebs has pivoted into a business with solid and clear purposes, something people will want.

Why not a rebrand? GoDotWebs was involved in several events, including HackTheEast, one of Hong Kong’s biggest AI hackathons. It had a brand appearance, and it would be a waste to rebrand.

The reasons to bet on GoDotWebs

GoDotWebs is certainly not by some college kid who vibe-coded an app within a day. While it's too early to conclude whether GoDotWebs has huge potential, it is a more stable business than most B2C SaaS in the market. It wins in security infrastructure, practicality, and strong differentiation; three major factors that drive long-term success in the consumer market. However, the risk that VCs’ shift from software to hardware became a major concern for GoDotWebs. Also, GoDotWebs has to acquire users quickly because velocity is critical in B2C. However, as long as there are needs in the market and web forms & applications are painful, the business model is still viable. Now, it needs good timing and a bit of luck.

GoDotWebs is like Perplexity: a clear business model, jumped into a crowded market, and well-differentiated. The only problem is whether GoDotWebs is willing to make smart long-term investments in business infrastructure like self-trained AI models, servers, and a great team, after being funded.
